Context
Kwa-Pele Foods (KPF), founded in 1982, owns and operates 60+ KFC restaurants across Gauteng, Limpopo, Free State and the Western Cape. KPF started using the JOBJACK Platform in early 2023, and switched on JOBJACK’s Waitlist feature in September 2024.

“Waitlist is easy to use, and it saves a lot of time, especially when we need to fill new positions at short notice.”
Maria Marema
People Capability Admin, Kwa-Pele Foods
Before implementing JOBJACK, KPF struggled with slow and admin-intensive manual recruiting processes. After bringing JOBJACK on board, they saw a significant reduction in time to hire and recruiting admin, and were eager to improve this even more by switching on the new Waitlist feature.
Implementation
Kwa-Pele Foods switched on JOBJACK’s Waitlist in September 2024. The Waitlist feature allowed them to add promising applicants to their Waitlist to easily reconsider when new vacancies became available, shortening their recruiting process, and with no additional costs to their business.
What is Waitlist?
Too many good applicants to choose from? Waitlist allows you to add promising applicants to your Waitlist, to easily re-interview or appoint when new jobs become available.
Challenges

Results
Kwa-Pele Foods saw immediate results in terms of faster hiring and less recruiting admin after switching on JOBJACK’s Waitlist feature:
-
KPF was able to fill roles with waitlisted candidates in only 1.8 days
-
This is 10 times faster than their usual time to hire of 22 days without the Waitlist feature
-
KPF were able to fill 28% of their jobs using waitlisted candidates
-
This saved them an additional 76 hours in recruiting admin, on top of the already reduced recruiting admin after implementing JOBJACK
