A leading footwear and apparel retail customer partnered with JOBJACK in the run-up to the festive season, to fill their additional festive season shop assistant roles nationally.

Prior to working with JOBJACK, the retailer struggled with a manual recruiting process that was slow and admin-intensive; the paper-based manual process also created issues with POPIA compliance. As they needed to ramp up their seasonal hiring quickly, they needed an automated solution that would allow them to hire quickly in time for the busy season. They also need help with accurately selecting the best candidates to engage with customers and drive revenue, to maximise the festive season opportunity.

Implementation

The retailer was able to select and hire 92 high-calibre shop assistants in time to prepare their stores for the busy festive season, and saw the following results:

  • All appointed candidates had above-average scores on JOBJACK’s numeracy, literacy, problem-solving and trait assessments

  • Hiring managers were able to hire faster, with some stores able to appoint candidates in as little as 2 days

  • On average, the retailer saw 6% higher sales from the JOBJACK shop assistants, compared to candidates sourced elsewhere
